The Growing Community Foundations Program is a special project of the League of California Community Foundations (the League) to assist new and emerging community foundations located in areas of the state where community foundation services are needed. Through this program, the League provides information, guidance and training to growing community foundations that do not yet meet the League's membership criteria but can benefit from its resource materials and selected support services. Services offered in 2002 to eligible Growing Community Foundation's Program participants include:
Information and Referral Network
Participating organizations have access to the League's information services including sample policies, forms, publications, marketing materials, salary surveys, donor agreements, personnel manuals and strategic plans.
Community Foundation Basics Institute
Each year the League offers an introductory workshop on community foundation basics for board and staff members who are new to the community foundation field. This workshop includes a section specifically designed for nascent organizations in the early stages of development.
Network Development
The League, through its Growing Community Foundations Program, seeks to serve as an anchor and connecting point for California's new and emerging community foundations. All organized activities are designed to provide opportunities for sharing among emerging organizations and with the veterans in the field.
