The members and associate members of the League of California Community Foundations each meet national standards for community foundations.

These standards were established by the Council on Foundations and adopted by the League of California Community Foundations in 2000. Community foundations that achieve these standards demonstrate excellence in important areas, including client service, fiscal accountability, grantmaking and community leadership.
